Fr. Weber's Letter of Invitation to the Picnic (2017)

April 2017

Greetings Holy Cross Families & Friends,

Our Annual Parish Picnic held at the end of June is fast approaching.  This year’s picnic will be on Sunday, June 25th, from 10 am – 5 pm. The traditional outdoor Polka Mass begins our day at 10 am. Following Mass, there will be booyah, burgers, hotdogs, desserts, beer tent, kid’s games including inflatables, silent auction and other 50/50 raffles.

Back by popular demand, music by the area’s hottest band, Red Clover!

Enclosed are your raffle tickets. We are encouraging each registered family is to sell or purchase 25 tickets. Tickets are $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. The top prize is $1,000, with many other large cash prizes. The Parish Picnic is the largest fundraiser for our parish and if all the raffle tickets were sold, we would bring in over $40,000! Please support our raffle ticket sponsors by patronizing their businesses.

We also need other donations such as new silent auction items, baked goodies, and pies. Silent auction items need not be grouped or prepared as a basket as our picnic committee can arrange items together to make an inviting bid item.  Cash donations are also welcomed.

We need volunteers in all areas. You can go to the Parish website at www.holycrossfamily.blogspot.com to sign up to volunteer. Click on Picnic tab at the top of the webpage and you will find the link for our on-line volunteer sign up sheets. You will also find the Chairperson contact information for each area of the picnic if you wish to contact them directly. You can also just look for the signs in back of church after Mass starting in May.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Chairperson Bob Tuszynski at bob2shoes@hotmail.com or 414-803-6859.

Thank you for your involvement in our parish and school community.  There are many opportunities to make a difference for our united family of Holy Cross.  Let's continue our wonderful traditions of liturgy, community, day school & evening faith formation at Holy Cross.

This will be my last picnic Mass at Holy Cross as I retire from the pastorate.  So please join me in my farewell acknowledging appreciation and gratitude to a parish that has so wonderfully welcomed me almost five years ago.

Rev. Michael J. Weber, O. Praem.
(Fr. Mike)
