My Dear Parishioners,
This weekend is “Memorial Day weekend” and I remember from times past that it kicked off the Summer vacation time which would continue until “Labor Day Weekend” in September.
Hopefully the weather will warm up and we can get into “the summertime attitude” so we can slow down, relax, enjoy vacation homes at lakes and “up north.” Let us not forget all those men and women who have given their lives to go and fight in wars so that we may have and enjoy the freedoms that we have here in America. May they rest in peace and may we always honor the sacrifices that they made.
Last Thursday our Holy Cross Catholic School graduated 19 students from our 8th grade. This is one of the largest graduating classes that we have had in many years, and we congratulate them and send them forth into high school with our best wishes and blessing!
Please note that Monday, May 30th, is Memorial Day, a national holiday and our parish office will be closed. Also, kindly make note of the fact that I will be gone from the parish from Tuesday afternoon, May 31st, through Saturday morning, June 4th. I will be at Saint Norbert Abbey in De Pere attending our Annual Norbertine Chapter. This meeting, which always takes place the first week of June, gathers all the members of the Abbey to handle our Order’s business, to make decisions, elect members to various committees, and to spend some time in spiritual reflection. In the event of an emergency, please do not hesitate to call me on my cell phone at 920-619-7844.
Oremus pro invicem,
