Faith Formation News

Submitted by Faith Formation Director Marti Burkard

Lenten greetings to all of you! I have just a few thoughts to share with you as we draw closer to our Parish Lenten Reconciliation Services this coming Wednesday, April 6 at 1:00 and 7:00pm. One of the greatest lessons we can teach our children is to "Be angry, but do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your anger." Ephesians 4:26 That scripture challenges us to forgive and to not let anger grow in us. We destroy ourselves if we live in anger and sin. We need to teach our children to learn to forgive, and then to forget...not letting a day go by before we make amends, ask forgiveness or apologize. Our human tendency is to stay angry and feel righteous about it. But the scriptures say that even though you may have been wronged, you need to let go, forgive and move on.

About Holy Cross Faith Formation
All children in the Holy Cross Parish Family have the right and opportunity to be educated in their faith. Children and young adults often have questions about God. The Holy Cross Parish Faith Formation program works with parents to answer these questions and to bring our young people into a closer relationship with God; a relationship which motivates them to make good moral decisions in order to live Christ-like lives.
