May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Her...

Marilyn Emily Craanen, 82, Bay Settlement, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at a local hospital with her family by her side. Born April 20, 1928, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Mamie (VanEgeren) Moureau. Marilyn married Milton Craanen May 28, 1949, at Holy Cross Church in Bay Settlement, and he preceded her in death September 29, 2010. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Church, Bay Settlement. Marilyn enjoyed dancing and bowling in her younger years, and singing, yodeling, and baking her whole life.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Gary (Sue) Craanen of Racine, Dave (Gwen) Craanen of Townsend, Mary (Donald, Jr.) Coppens of Denmark, Nancy (Mark) Bader, Janice Craanen all of Green Bay, Joan Jones (special friend, Gary Liethen) of Suamico, and Denis (Lynn) Craanen of New Franken; 11 grandchildren, Adam, Melissa “Missy” Craanen, Cindy (Joe) Black, Jesse (Christine) Van Ven Roy, Sara (Brian) Kehrli, Jody Van Ven Roy, Tracy Bader (fiancĂ©, Dan Johnson) Terry Bader (special friend, Chris Knuth), Amy (Scott) Vogels, Zachary Jones, and Hannah Jones; 8 great grandchildren, Marie, Zoie, Jack, Olivia, Andrew, Payton, Sophie, and Kayla; brothers and sisters, Richard (Joan) Moureau of Green Bay, Bernice (Robert) Jacobs of Luxemburg, Rita (Pete) Jauquet of Brussels, Joyce Berg of Green Bay, Doris (Clarence) Ducat of Denmark, Jean (Donald) Smits of Green Bay, Loretta (Dale) VanDerkin of Plymouth, Rosemary (Connie) Van Ess of Green Bay, and Judy (Darrell) Lardinois of De Pere; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rita Moureau, Rita Strebel, Genevieve Craanen, Herbert (Lucille) Craanen, Clayton (Ardella) Craanen, and Dorothy Malczewski; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Mary (Van Lanen) Craanen; daughter, Diane Craanen; brother, Walter Moureau; and 2 sisters, “Sister Mary John” Grace Moureau and Shirley Bielinski; and brothers-in-law, Carl Berg, Stanley Bosetski, Orlin Pirlot, and Ralph Strebel.

Visitation at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, Sunday (3/20) from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Parish wake service 6:00 P.M. Sunday. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday (3/14) from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Thomas Hagendorf, O.Praem. Entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Malcore (East) Funeral Home assisted the family.
