Sharing the last few days of her life with her family, Jeanne Pischke was called home to be with God on her 75th birthday. She died as she lived, fully trusting in God. She was born on Feb. 27, 1936, to Clarence and Lucille Tomashek in Shawano. She graduated from St. Norbert College in 1957 and married Jim Pischke in 1958.
Jeanne dedicated her life to being a mother to her own children and to those who needed a mother's care, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Serving as both a teacher and a principal for over 40 years in the Catholic schools throughout the state, one of her greatest privileges was getting to work with and love children all her life. Her service to the Lord kept her faithfully involved in the Catholic church sharing her piano playing gifts as a church musician, her faith as a prayer leader, and her wisdom as a parish council member.
With an unwavering devotion to her faith and a deep moral compass, Jeanne freely expressed her opinions and advocated unhesitatingly for her beliefs, a passion she shared to help those around her. She comforted and supported others through her work as a Unity Hospice volunteer and as a leader in the WINGS group for those dealing with divorce. Jeanne shared her quick wit, no nonsense approach, and her sense of humor with all she met. Whether it was playing cards, conversing with friends, offering a hug, or spending time with family, she made those times memorable.
She is survived by her children, Amy Novak, Peggy and Joe Fisher, Patty Gatzke, and Joe Pischke, and her grandchildren, Chelsea, Emilie, Trevor, Ryan, Brandon, Gavin, Rachel, Bailey, and Nicholas. She is further survived by her brothers, Don and Diann Tomashek and Chuck and Holly Tomashek.
