Deacon Richard E. Nowak
(December 28, 1931 to January 20, 2011)

Deacon Richard E. Nowak, age 79 of Green Bay, WI, formerly of Lombard, IL at rest Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St. Patrick's Residence in Naperville, IL. Born December 28, 1931 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Joseph & Bernice Nowak. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Dziedzic), loving father of Patricia (Randall) Patterson, Anita (Richard) Krajecki and Barbara (Robert) MacDougall, cherished grandfather of Laura, Kathleen, Kristin, Megan, Douglas and Jamie, dear great-grandfather of six and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceded by two sisters and two brothers. Richard retired from International Harvester after 37 years of service. Richard was ordained Permanent Deacon at Cathedral of St. Raymond by Bishop Raymond Vonesh in May 1979. He served as Deacon at St. Pius X Church in Lombard, Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, FL, St. John the Baptist Church in Egg Harbor, WI, Corpus Christy Parish in Sturgeon Bay, WI and Holy Cross Parish in Green Bay, WI. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be directed to St. Patrick's Residence, 1400 Brookdale Road\ Naperville, IL 60563. Visitation Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at St. Irene Catholic Church, 28W531 Warrenville Road Warrenville, IL 60555 and Monday, January 24, 2011 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, IL. Arrangements have been entrusted to Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home
