Submitted by Spanish teacher, Mrs. Mary Lardinois
Spanish class students in kindergarten are thoroughly ready to tell you about the objects in their classroom. We presently are beginning Spanish class with the Hail Mary prayer in Spanish. Soon, right after Thanksgiving we will add the Pledge of Allegiance.
In grades 1-8, all Spanish students are familiar with the Blessing Before Mealtime. Hopefully, by Thanksgiving, Holy Cross students will share this prayer at the dinner table in their homes with their families.
Grades 1-5 are learning vocabulary related to their classrooms. Questions and answers are used in class to promote understanding.
Grade 6 has been studying words that describe how people feel. These students have practiced small dialogues with greetings and farewells. Now we are ready to begin a new lesson on days of the week and numbers.
Grades 7 and 8 have just begun a lesson on weekend activities. Some of the activities are lots of fun like going to the movies, bowling, shopping in the mall and talking on the phone. Also, they have learned some weekend activities such as cleaning their rooms, studying and helping with the chores at home. Soon they will be ready to plan their entire weekend using their new vocabulary.
