On November 12, the Green Bay Area Catholic Education (GRACE) System announced the retirement of its President Dr. Carol Conway-Gerhardt effective June 30, 2011. GRACE will immediately begin a search for a new President.
“I have been blessed to serve this ministry. Although there is much to do to reach the goal, I am confident my early notice and our dedicated boards, staff and principals will make this transition smooth and the GRACE System a success” said President Conway-Gerhardt.
President Conway-Gerhardt informed the GRACE Trustees, Directors and staff this week of her intention to retire at the end of her current contract. Dr. Conway-Gerhard joined the GRACE System in July 2008 as its first President. She had previously served as Agency Administrator of Cooperative Educational Service Agency 7 (CESA 7) and Superintendent of the Weyauwega-Fremont School District.
“We have been blessed by Dr. Conway-Gerhardt’s tireless efforts to advance the future of Catholic education in the Green Bay area. Her dedication and talents contributed to the successful consolidation of ten Green Bay area Catholic schools under a collective ministry serving all 23 area Catholic parishes,” said Board of Trustees Chairperson Allan Patek.
Chairperson Patek indicated that GRACE would start a broad search to locate a new President for the ten school system serving over 2700 students. “Implementation of our full school consolidation plan will continue on schedule.” said Patek.
