September 25/26: From the Pastor's Desk...

My Dear Parishioners,

As you know, this year the new “GRACE” school system began its operation by incorporating all of the Catholic Parish School Principals under its organizational umbrella, and next July 1st it will complete its takeover of all the Green Bay Catholic Schools by incorporating teachers, staff, and other operational elements and become the fully functional Green Bay Catholic School System. We as a parish and I as your pastor support this change and new system and hope and pray that it will strengthen Catholic Education in our area. This weekend the “GRACE SYSTEM” initiates its second annual Appeal for financial support from people of the Diocese of Green Bay. As you will hear from Bishop Ricken at all Masses this weekend, this appeal is especially important so that the new system may get off to a good start with financial stability. You will be receiving in the mail the Annual GRACE Appeal brochure and return envelope. Kindly be generous in your support of this worthy appeal. If you wish to make your contribution this weekend, materials are available in the pews.

I am sure that all of you are aware of the existence of the Chapel at Robinsonville, “The Shrine of our Lady of Good Help.” It is about 5-7 miles from here and is the site where many wonders of faith occurred and still take place. I do not know if all of you know the full story of the chapel and if you do not , then this weekend is a good opportunity for you to inform yourself about the chapel. Mr Dan Drossart, a parishioner and our finance Trustee, will speak at all the Masses about the Chapel and after each Mass will be at the front entrance of the church with copies of a newly released DVD that tells the story of the Chapel. The DVDs are for sale at $10.50 each, and all proceeds go to the support of the Chapel. I have seen the DVD and I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a great deal about events in the past and those which continue in our present day. On Friday, October 8th, our entire grade school will be making a pilgrimage to the Chapel and I will celebrate Mass for them at 10 am. All of you are invited to attend this Mass with our school children. October is one of the months dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary under her title of the “Most Holy Rosary,” so this would be a good opportunity for us to honor the Blessed Mother.

Oremus pro invicem,
Fr. Tom
