GRACE Hires Trulley as Director of Business Services

On Tuesday, June 22, the Green Bay Area Catholic Education (GRACE) System announced Mr. Michael Trulley as its first Business Services Director. Trulley, who completed his BBA Accounting Degree at the University of Notre Dame and his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in 1985, emerged as the best candidate and match for the position from among 12 candidates.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the GRACE leadership team, Board of Trustees, Board of Directors, parents and school staff to create the best Catholic school system possible,” said Trulley.

Mr. Trulley has worked as an internal auditor, budget analyst, budget supervisor, senior accountant, accounting supervisor, CPA owner/manager of his own company, assistant manager retail accounting for Supervalu, Inc., vice-president of finance at Silver Lake College, comptroller at Petroleum Equipment Service, Inc., manager at Ihlenfeld, Skatrud & Anderson, Inc., and assistant accounting manager. As vice-president of finance at Silver Lake College he oversaw the budget and managed general accounting, student accounts, accounts payable and payroll, human resources, financial aid, computer services, plant operations, food service, bookstore and print shop.

Trulley is a member of the American Institute of CPAs – Wisconsin Institute of CPAs. He is also past president of the Shamrock Club of Green Bay and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a member of the Knights of Columbus and former board chairman of the SuperValu Credit Union.

Conway-Gerhardt said three components specifically attracted the interview team to Mr. Trulley: his commitment to the Catholic Church and the mission of GRACE, his expansive experience in accounting and budget work and his dedication to and ideas for moving the system forward.

“GRACE is proud to welcome Mr. Trulley and commits to being supportive in every way to him and the financial work that needs to be addressed,” said Conway-Gerhardt. With Mr. Trulley’s selection, he joins the ten principals as part of the GRACE Leadership Team.

Created in January 2007, GRACE encompasses 10 schools. They are Resurrection and St. Matthew, Allouez; Holy Cross, Bay Settlement; Notre Dame and Our Lady of Lourdes, De Pere; Holy Family, Prince of Peace, St. Bernard, and St. Thomas More, Green Bay; and St. John the Baptist, Howard. As part of the transition to a system, GRACE is employing all 10 principals and the business services director beginning July 1, 2010. Previously, parishes employed the principals. By school year 2011-12, GRACE will be fully operational with the teachers and support staff becoming GRACE employees.
