Andrew "Andy" Van Egeren is the brother of Holy Cross parishioner and HCCS secretary Ginny (Marv) Lardinois.
Andrew "Andy" Van Egeren, 58, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly at home of a heart attack early Monday morning, January 18, 2010. Born March 10, 1951 in Green Bay to the late Francis and Bernice (Burkart) Van Egeren, Andy was raised on the family farm in Bay Settlement and eventually bought the family home where he raised his children. He is a graduate of Preble High School and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Andy has been employed his entire career with Paper Converting Machine Company as a mechanical designer. He married Bonnie McClain on July 11, 2009, at Calvary Lutheran Church.
Andy was a fun-loving person with a great sense of humor who was loved by all who met him. Andy was a generous person who gave freely of his time to help friends, family and volunteer organizations. He continues his giving spirit as an organ donor. He will be remembered for his many themed parties, most notably his annual corn roast. Andy will be missed by his friends who competed with him in volleyball, walleyball, softball and bowling. He was an avid fan of local sports, especially the Packers. He truly enjoyed spending time doing projects in his "man-cave" and spending time on his "Honda-Davidson" motorcycle.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; two children, Nicholas (girlfriend, Dani) of Madison, and Tricia (fiance' Steve), Green Bay and their mother, Bonnie Reinhardt, Green Bay; two step-children, Stacy and Kevin McClain, Green Bay; five brothers and sisters, Ginny (Marv) Lardinois, Bay Settlement, Dave (Donna) Van Egeren, Janesville, Dennis (Shirley) Van Egeren, Green Bay, Steve (Barb) Van Egeren, New Franken, Tony (Gina) Van Egeren, Bellevue; father and mother-in-law, Curt and Connie Wiegert, Manitowoc; maternal grandmother-in-law, Renata Vandenberg, Little Chute; four sisters-in-law and their families, Deborah Coffey, Laurie Kleiber, Rebecca (Kevin) Barribeau, and Heidi Cudnohufsky; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Visitation at MALCORE (East) Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 4-8pm. Visitation will continue Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Ridge Road at 9th Street, from 10 am until the time of the funeral. Funeral 11am Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the church with Rev. Earl Vorpagel III officiating.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Andy's memory.
