What's happening in Faith Formation?

FIRST COMMUNION IS NEXT WEEKEND! Next Saturday, May 2, at the 4pm Mass, and Sunday, May 3, at the 10 am Mass, 37 of our young people will be receiving First Holy Communion. We realize that this presents a "crowd" problem, both in church and in our parking lots, so we simply ask for patience and consideration from all those involved in the celebration. My prayers are with all of our first communion candidates as they spend their last week of interior preparation before receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus.

CALLING ALL FAITH FORMATION CATECHISTS! Required in-service for all Catechists on Wednesday, April 29, from 6-8 pm in the school library.

CATECHIST APPRECIATION. Thank you to all of you who have volunteered your time and talent and shared your faith with our young people each week in our Faith Formation Program. You are the spirit, the fire, and the backbone of our parish family!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!

Bring your friends! Kids Age 4 through Grade 4 won’t want to miss any of the excitement of these sessions. Young people in grades 5-8 can sign up to be helpers and high school students lead in each of the sights daily. Each session will be held at St. Louis Parish Religious Education Center in Dyckesville, Monday-Friday, June 15-19, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Register by June 12, 2009 (866-2842). Fee is $22 per child. About Holy Cross Faith Formation
All children in the Holy Cross Parish Family have the right and opportunity to be educated in their faith. Children and young adults often have questions about God. The Holy Cross Parish Faith Formation program works with parents to answer these questions and to bring our young people into a closer relationship with God; a relationship which motivates them to make good moral decisions in order to live Christ-like lives.
